Your enrollment visit

This is your first visit to start participation in the study. At this visit we confirm your eligibility, go through the consent form, and enroll you in the study. This involves collecting samples and completing questionnaires and a pelvic exam.

We are happy to validate your parking in the garage underneath the Metropolitan Park East Building.


What to Wear

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing with shirt sleeves that can roll up above the elbow. 

What to Bring

Please bring a complete list of all your medications, treatments, and/or therapies. We will ask for the name and start date (or as close as you can estimate).

If you need glasses for computer work, please bring them with you. 

How to Be Prepared

Try to drink 1-2 glasses of water the morning of your visit and be prepared for a urine collection right when you arrive. 

Print or write out directions to your visit. Be sure to include our phone number, so that you can call if you need help. 

Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your visit starts. 

When you arrive at the parking garage, take the garage ticket with you and give it to the research coordinator for validation. 

What to Expect

Plan to spend 2 - 3 hours at your visit. The enrollment visit includes:

  • Talking through what it means to participate in the study. This is known as informed consent. 
  • Asking a series of questions to confirm your eligibility for the study. 
  • Urine collections
  • Questionnaires
  • A physical exam that includes a pelvic exam
  • Optional swab collections
